The BAT54S is a bidirectional rectifier diode composed of three PN junctions, suitable for applications such as rectification, protection, and voltage limiting in circuits. Its key features include compact size, low power dissipation, and fast response speed, making it widely used in electronic circuits.diode
1. Structure and Principle of BAT54S
The BAT54S consists of three PN junctions, with two N-type semiconductors serving as the anode and the middle P-type semiconductor as the cathode. Under forward bias, the central P-type semiconductor forms PN junctions with the N-type semiconductors at both ends, allowing electrons to flow from the N-type to the P-type and holes to flow from the P-type to the N-type, enabling current conduction. Under reverse bias, the central P-type semiconductor again forms PN junctions with the N-type semiconductors, but electrons flow from the P-type to the N-type while holes flow from the N-type to the P-type, preventing current conduction. Thus, the BAT54S exhibits unidirectional conductivity and can be used for rectification, protection, and other applications.diode
