However, clamp diodes also have some drawbacks:
1. The reverse breakdown voltage is relatively low, making it susceptible to damage caused by high voltage;
2. High temperature sensitivity, easily affected by overheating.diode,
3、 Working principle:
The working principle of clamp diode is based on Schottky structure. When a forward voltage is applied to the device, due to the Schottky structure between the metal electrode and the n-type semiconductor, electrons can easily be injected from the metal electrode into the semiconductor, forming a conductive channel, resulting in a lower forward voltage drop of the device. When a reverse voltage is applied to the device, due to the characteristics of the Schottky structure, the electronic flow is greatly hindered, resulting in weak reverse conductivity.
4、 Application:
Clamp diodes have a wide range of applications, including but not limited to the following aspects:diode
1. As a switching element, used in high-frequency circuits and fast switching circuits;
2. As a voltage stabilizer, used to stabilize and adjust the power supply voltage;
3. As a detector, used to detect radio signals;diode
4. As a protective component, it is used to prevent excessive reverse voltage in the circuit.
5、 Reason for damage:
Clamp diodes may be damaged for the following reasons:diode
