With the continuous advancement of technology and the increasing demand for computing power, the performance requirements of chips are also becoming higher and higher. The traditional transistor structure is approaching its physical limit and cannot continue to improve performance. Therefore, scientists have begun to study new transistor structures to meet the needs of future BQ24073RGTR chips.

Nano chip transistor is a new type of transistor structure with dimensions much smaller than traditional transistor, which can achieve higher integration and lower power consumption. IBM proposed a conceptual nanosheet transistor in 2015, which has the potential to double performance and can have a huge impact on the development of future chips.

The Structure of Nanosheet Transistors

IBM's concept nanosheet transistor adopts a novel structural design, consisting of a series of nanoscale thin films. Each sheet is made of two-dimensional materials such as graphene, which have extremely high conductivity and mechanical strength.

These thin films are connected together through a special stacking method, forming a structure with novel transistor characteristics. Each sheet can independently control the flow of current, achieving higher integration and faster switching speed. In addition, due to the very small distance between the thin films, nanosheet transistors can also achieve lower power consumption.
