On the basis of identifying the type and base of the tube, the emitter and collector can be further distinguished. Still using diode mode, for NPN transistors, connect the red probe to its' B 'terminal and the black probe to the other two pins. Among the two measured inter electrode voltages, the one with slightly higher voltage is the' E 'terminal, and the one with slightly lower voltage is the' C 'terminal. If it is a PNP transistor, connect the black probe to its' B 'terminal, and the higher voltage obtained is the' E 'terminal, while the lower voltage is the' C 'terminal. ---For example, by connecting the red probe to the middle pin of C9018 and the black probe to the other two pins, two voltage values of 0.719 volts and 0.731 volts can be obtained. Among them, 0.719 volts is the voltage between "B" and "C", and 0.731 volts is the voltage between "B" and "E".
To determine the quality of a transistor, simply check if each PN junction of the transistors is damaged, and measure the forward and reverse voltages of its emitter and collector using a multimeter to determine. If the measured forward voltage is similar to the reverse voltage and almost zero. Or if the forward voltage is' OL ', it indicates that the transistor has short circuited or broken.
How do you feel now! Compared to measuring a transistor using the resistance method, which one is more satisfying?
