What is the difference between MOS diodes and transistors

The transistor is current control, and the MOS transistors is voltage control, mainly with the following differences:

1. When only a small amount of current is allowed from the signal source, MOS diode is selected; Under the condition that the signal voltage is low and more current is allowed to be drawn from the signal source, the transistor is selected.

2, MOS diodes is a unipolar device (conduction by a majority carrier), triode is a bipolar device (both a majority of carriers, but also a minority carrier conduction).

3, some MOS transistors source and drain can be used interchangeably, gate can also be positive or negative, flexibility is better than triode.

4, MOS diodes application is common, can work under very small current and very low voltage.

5. The input impedance of MOS diode is large, low noise, MOS diode is more expensive, and the loss of transistor is large.

6, MOS diodes is commonly used as a power switch, as well as high-current switching circuits, high-frequency high-speed circuits, transistors are commonly used to digital circuit switch control.
