Learn about the classification of insulated gate MOSFETs

1. Classification of insulated gate MOSFETs (MOS diode): Insulated gate MOSFET also has two structural forms, which are N-channel type and P-channel type. Regardless of the channel, they are divided into two types: enhanced and depleted.

    2. It is composed of metals, oxides and semiconductors, so it is also called metal-oxide-semiconductor MOSFETs, referred to as MOSFETs

    3. The working principle of insulated gate MOSFET (taking N-channel enhanced MOSFETs as an example) is to use UGS to control the amount of "induced charge" to change the condition of the conductive channel formed by these "induced charges", and then achieve the purpose of controlling the drain current. In the manufacture of the diode, a large number of positive ions appear in the insulation layer through the process, so more negative charges can be induced on the other side of the interface, and these negative charges turn on the N region of hyperosmotic impurities to form a conductive channel, even when VGS=0 there is a large drain current ID. When the gate voltage changes, the amount of charge induced in the channel also changes, and the width of the conductive channel also changes, so the drain current ID changes with the gate voltage.

MOSFETs work in two ways: those with a large drain current when the gate voltage is zero are called depletion type; When the gate voltage is zero, the drain current is also zero, and a certain gate voltage must be added before there is a drain current, which is called the enhanced type.
