What are the methods for determining the positive and negative poles of the fast recovery diode

Many people find it difficult to accurately judge the positive and negative poles of the diode, in fact, the positive and negative poles of the diode are still very simple.

First of all, it should be clear which type of device needs to determine the positive and negative diodes of the device.

Secondly, a specific diode positive and negative judgment method can be applied.

This article uses fast recovery diode as an example to explain the judgment criteria for the positive and negative poles of fast recovery diode.

fast recovery diode generally horizontal bar represents the negative end, if you are afraid of mistakes, you can use a multimeter measurement to measure, reach the buzzing gear (measure the broken circuit that gear), use a positive meter pen to choose one end, the other end with a negative meter pen, if it is lit, then the positive meter pen that end is positive, if not lit, two meter pens to measure over, will definitely be bright.

Method for testing the positive and negative poles of a fast recovery diode with a digital multimeter:

If the positive and negative markings of the diode are ambiguous, a multimeter can be used to test the identification.

1. Pointer universal judgment method:

Hit the multimeter to R×1K gear, connect with the two electrodes of the diode with a red and black watch pen, and measure that the impedance of the two directions is very different, and the time when the resistance value is small. Then the black watch pen is connected to the positive terminal of the diode. (Note: When testing with a multimeter resistance file, the positive terminal of the battery in the meter is connected to the black meter pen - end)

2. Digital multimeter judgment method:

It can also be measured with a resistance of 1K gear, and the time when the resistance value is small. Then the black pen should be connected to the negative pole of the diode, because the digital multimeter black pen is connected to the negative pole of the battery.

Most digital multimeters also provide diode test files, with a red and black pen connected to the two electrodes of the diode, one reading is infinity, and the other has a reading, when the end of the red pen is connected to the positive terminal of the diode (A).
