difference between regulator diodes and TVS diodes

What are the differences between the application of regulator diodes and TVS diodes? Many engineers have this doubt.

regulator diodes and TVS diodes are not the same, regulator diodes mainly play a role in voltage stabilization in the circuit, need to reverse the connection, so that the reverse breakdown of the load, the voltage across the load will remain basically unchanged. TVS tube is a transient suppression diode, its circuit symbol and ordinary regulator diode is the same, the shape is no different from ordinary diode, when the TVS tube at both ends of the instantaneous high energy impact, it can at a very high speed (up to 1/(10^12) seconds) its impedance suddenly decreased, while absorbing a large current, the voltage between its two ends clamped at a predetermined value, thereby ensuring that the circuit components behind are protected from transient high energy impact and damage.

TVS and Zener regulator tubes can be used as voltage regulation, but Zener breakdown current is smaller, greater than 10V regulation is only 1mA, relatively much larger than Zener diode breakdown current, but Zener diode regulation accuracy can be relatively high.
