How to Choose a fast recovery diode
The reason for choosing a fast recovery diode in a switching power supply is due to its operating frequency. If a regular rectifier diode is used, it will cause the diode to heat up and reduce its load capacity due to poor frequency response.
Transformers cannot pass through direct current voltage, so the zero level of the square wave output from the transformer is not at the low or high end of the square wave, but at the position where the area of the square wave is equal in 'volts seconds', so the voltage output from the transformer has a negative half cycle.
Only the volt ampere characteristics and sensitivity of the fast recovery diode can meet the requirements of switching power supply transformation.
