Recently, Texas Instruments (TI) announced the launch of an audio capacitive touch BoosterPack based on the C5000™ ultra-low-power digital signal processor (DSP), which enables various new features for microprocessor applications, supporting clear audio as well as playback and recording functions. This latest audio capacitive touch BoosterPack (430Boost-C55audio1) is a plug-in circuit board designed for the MSP430™ LaunchPad development kit with a suggested retail price of $4.30. It is also TI's first DSP solution fully controlled by a microcontroller, helping designers without DSP programming experience add audio and other real-time features to their systems. The Audio Capacitive Touch BoosterPack integrates the industry-leading ultra-low-power microcontroller with the C553x ultra-low-power DSP and MSP430 Value Line devices, enabling developers to add DSP functionality to their microcontroller applications while ensuring low power consumption.
