Supercapacitors are electronic devices with high energy density and high power density, widely used in fields such as mobile electronic devices and electric vehicles. However, traditional supercapacitors are often made of metal or semiconductor materials, which pose problems of environmental pollution and resource waste. To address this issue, a research team from Lanzhou University has successfully developed a flexible and biodegradable TLC7135CDWR supercapacitor implant. diode

The supercapacitor implant uses a biodegradable polymer material as the substrate, which is modified with nanomaterials to possess high capacitance and conductivity characteristics. The research team first prepared nano carbon materials on biodegradable substrates, and then used a series of chemical modifications and heat treatment processes to endow the nano carbon materials with excellent conductivity and capacitance properties. Finally, the modified nanocarbon material was combined with a biodegradable substrate to form a flexible and biodegradable supercapacitor implant.

The research team has integrated wireless charging modules and energy storage modules to enhance the continuous power supply capability of the system, forming an integrated flexible biodegradable energy supply system. The system can fully adhere to the three-dimensional surface of biological tissue without causing any mechanical damage to the tissue. Wireless power transmission equipment is composed of magnesium coils, which charge the device when the external transmitter coil is placed on the skin above the implant.

The energy absorbed by the coil under the skin passes through the circuit and then enters the energy storage module composed of mixed zinc ion supercapacitors (ionizers). In terms of its characteristics, the ionizer is located in the middle position between the capacitor and the chemical power source (such as a battery). Although supercapacitors store less energy per unit volume than lithium batteries, they have high power density and can consistently provide a large amount of energy. diode
