The importance of transistors

A transistor, whose real name is a semiconductor transistor, is a semiconductor device that contains two PN junctions inside and usually three lead electrodes on the outside. It has amplification and switching functions on electrical signals, and is widely used. The input stage and output stage use the logic circuit of the transistor, called transistor-transistor logic circuit, books and practical are referred to as TTL circuit, it belongs to a kind of semiconductor integrated circuit, the most common of which is TTL and nongate. TTL and NOT gates are circuit systems consisting of several transistors and resistive elements assembled on a very small silicon chip and packaged into a single independent component. transistors are one of the most widely used devices in semiconductor transistors, and are represented by "V" or "VT" in circuits (the old text symbols are "Q", "GB", etc.).

transistors are one of the most critical components of modern appliances. transistors can be used on a large scale because they can be mass-produced at a very low unit cost.

At present, millions of single transistors are still in use, and the vast majority of transistors are and diodes|-{A|zh-cn: diodes; zh-tw:diode}-, resistors, capacitors are assembled together on microchips (chips) to make complete circuits. Analog or digital, or both, are integrated on the same chip. The cost of designing and developing a complex chip is quite high, but when produced, the cost of designing and developing a chip is spread across millions of chips, so the cost per chip in the market is usually not very expensive. A logic gate contains 20 transistors, compared to 289 million transistors used by an advanced microprocessor in 2005
