What do the two high voltage diodes in the microwave oven do?
One is rectifier, and the capacitor forms a voltage doubling rectifier circuit; the other is high voltage protection.
Microwave is a kind of electromagnetic wave. The microwave oven consists of a power supply, a magnetron, a control circuit and a cooking chamber. The power supply provides about 4000 volts of high voltage to the magnetron. Excited by the power supply, the magnetron continuously generates microwaves, which are then coupled to the cooking chamber through the waveguide system. Near the entrance of the cooking chamber, there is a rotatable mixer.
Because the mixer is a fan-shaped metal, it can reflect the microwave in all directions when it rotates, so the microwave energy can be evenly distributed in the cooking chamber to heat the food. The power range of microwave ovens is generally 500 to 1000 watts.
