How to choose the model of TVS diode? You can refer to the following points:
(1) The clamping voltage of TVS diode should be 10%~20% higher than the maximum working voltage of the protected circuit
(2) One-way TVS diode is generally used for DC protection, and bidirectional TVS diode is generally used for AC protection. TVS array can be used for multi-line protection.
(3) The instantaneous pulse that TVS can withstand must be a non-repetitive pulse.
(4) Within the specified pulse duration, the maximum peak pulse power of TVS diode must be greater than that of the protected circuit
For the possible peak pulse power, the peak pulse current should be greater than the transient surge current.
