What do Zener diodes VRWM and VBR mean?
The figure below is the volt-ampere characteristic curve of the Zener diodes , we can see VC, VBR, VRWM, VF.
VF is well understood, it is the forward voltage forward voltage;
Vrwm is the reverse working peak voltage. Intuitively speaking, when it is 0~ VRWM , the current is very small, only tens of nanoamps (called leakage current);
Vbr is the breakdown voltage, Vc is the clamping voltage, and the Zener diodes works in the range of Vbr~Vc. In this range, the current changes greatly but the voltage changes only a little. From the curve, IT is in the microamp range, while IPP is in the hundreds of mA.
