Is the use of transistor and MOSFET the same?

Whether the triode and MOS MOSFET can be used interchangeably, under normal circumstances, MOS MOSFET and transistor can not be directly replaced, from a comprehensive understanding of the basic working principle and functional characteristics of the triode, as well as different functional characteristics, when the driving circuit design is configured on the electronic circuit board, when the driving current is very small, the MOS MOSFET should often be correctly selected.

MOS transistor is a metal-oxide-semiconductor MOSFET electronic component, which can be divided into two categories: enhanced (also divided into N-channel and P-channel) and depleted (divided into N-channel and P-channel).

When the MOS MOSFET is designed as a switch diode and a drive circuit, how to choose between the two, and the comparison of other aspects of MOS transistor and transistor electronic components is as follows:

1. The transistor is a bipolar diode, that is, the diode is composed of two carriers, holes and free electrons, when the diode works. MOSFETs are unipolar diodes, i.e., the diodes either have only holes or only free electrons to conduct electricity and only one type of carrier when they work.

2. The transistor is a current control device, and there will be an output current only if there is an input current. MOSFETs are voltage control devices that have output currents without input current.

3. The input impedance of the transistor is small, and the input impedance of the FET is large.

4. Some FET source and drain can be interchanged, but the collector and emitter of the triode are not interchangeable.

5. The noise figure of the FET is small, which is suitable for the pre-stage of the low-noise amplifier.

6. If you want the signal source current to be small, you should choose a FET, otherwise, a triode is more appropriate.
