What problems should be paid attention to when using a good regulator diode

Although the voltage regulation circuit composed of the regulator diode is not very stable and the output current is small, it has the advantages of simplicity and cost-effectiveness, so it is widely used. In the actual circuit, to use a good voltage regulator diode, the following issues should be noted.

1. Pay attention to the difference between general diodes and voltage regulator diode. Many general diodes, especially glass-encapsulated tubes, have a similar shape color to regulator diodes, and if they are not carefully distinguished, they will be used incorrectly.

2. Pay attention to the difference between forward use and reverse use of voltage regulator diode. When the regulator diode is used in forward conduction, it is basically the same as when the general diode is used in forward conduction, and the voltage across the two terminals after forward is basically unchanged, both are about 0.7V.

3. Pay attention to the voltage difference between input and output. In normal use, the output voltage of the regulator diode regulator circuit is equal to the regulated value across the regulator tube after reverse breakdown.

4. The regulator diode is generally not used in parallel. When several regulators are connected in parallel, the regulated value will be determined by one (including the voltage value after forward conduction).
